About problem-solving games

Games where the team works out an answer together: riddles, anagrams, matching pairs, sorting and ordering rounds, and trivia with a fair amount of thinking. The questions and answers are already on the slides, so you can host one without any preparation.

Several of these templates are set up for team play, which suits a social or an offsite: colleagues talk the answer through in small groups before they submit it. The shorter ones fit the first ten minutes of a meeting.

Hosting tips

  • Check the length first. The shortest templates fit a meeting opener; the longest make a full quiz session.
  • Play riddles and word games in small teams, so people can think out loud together.
  • Read each question aloud for anyone who joins by phone audio only.
  • Review the answers in your copy before you present, and edit any question that does not suit your team.
  • Give a small prize for the top team. It does not need to be more than choosing the next quiz.
