When Is Children’s Day?

In 1925, the World Conference on Child Welfare in Geneva, Switzerland, proclaimed June 1st as International Children’s Day to promote child welfare and world peace. Many countries began to adopt this day as a national holiday and it quickly became a global commemoration.
In 1959, the United Nations General Assembly established Universal Children’s Day on November 20th. This day was created to commemorate the 兒童權利宣言 – promote the welfare of children worldwide and encourage international cooperation in protecting children’s rights.
Since then, many countries celebrate both International Children’s Day on June 1st Universal Children’s Day on November 20th.
